Comme tous les ans le comité des fêtes a organisé son traditionnel méchoui, le président Mickael Beucher et son équipe ont été satisfaits de cette journée sous un temps splendide et une bonne participation de la population de Saint Thomas. As it does annually, the comité des fêtes held its traditional sheep-roast barbecue, this year on 30th August. President Mickael Beucher and his team were very pleased with the day, everybody having a splendid time and with great attendance from the people of Saint Thomas. Le méchoui est en principe un mouton ou un agneau entier rôti à la
broche sur les braises d'un feu de bois. Le mot tient son origine d'un
mot Arabe qui signifie "grillé à la braise". |
Mechoui is an Arabic word meaning
"roasted on an open fire". This can apply to
a variety of foods, such as vegetables but mostly it refers to a whole
lamb or sheep spit-roasted outdoors. |
